Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

I promise this isn't solely an anti-Jets blog - look back at all my posts. The Jets just haven't been relevant since I started this thing last year.

And it's music to my ears that the first time they are is because they continue to poop themselves and let down their fanbase that for once weren't the only lunatics that thought they might be good.

I said before the season, before I thought Drake Maye would play and reinvigorate my football hankering, that the Patriots' season would be a success if they beat the Jets just once. But after they got dickpunched in week 3, when the Jets were trending up and we were halfway to oblivion, I wasn't too confident. Hell, even coming into today, after the Jets' four-game skid and Drake Maye looking like a franchise QB, I thought the chances of us winning were slimmer than Jim.

When Drake Maye went down in the second quarter on a no-call targeting, odds decreased.

When the Jets scored to go up 5 with 2:57, with likely one possession to go 70 yards and score with a receiver group who's hands were slippier than a very used lacrosse ball, my feelings were unchanged. This had to be the game the Jets would finally win to "right the ship".

Not so fast my friend. 3rd and 9; conversion. 3rd and 10; conversion. I felt like I was teleported back to overtime of the 2018 AFC Championship game in Arrowhead.

This was one drive after we converted a 3rd and 11 and 3rd and 9. The same team who was completely inept at converting 3rd and longs all season, especially when Jacoby was behind center, ripped apart one of the so-called best defenses in the league on the money down.

This was a great win for a team desperate for even a bad win. But that's all I'll say. I won't fall into my early September-self believing this team can become anything; we've seen enough of who we are.

This game is, again, about the Jets, and that they are equals to these sorry Patriots. That the team with a loaded roster is below the team with a bunch of players no one's ever heard of and will likely never hear of in the AFC East standings.

This game is proof that the football gods exist, and that no matter how upside down the world may seem, no matter how far from normality we feel, the Jets will always be there to pick us up.

The Jets are worse than the Patriots. I can't believe I'm saying that this year. I can't believe I get to say that this year. It just makes me so happy.

P.S. I hope Drake Maye is okay.
