Bill Belichick Is Not A First Ballot HOF'er In What Is The Greatest Embarrassment In The History Of The Sport

In a world of headline grabs, click-bait, and attention seeking internet personalities making obnoxiously annoying content for likes, it's not uncommon for me to meet a phone notification with an eye roll.
But when this one came across my figurative mobile desk, as I was sitting in 20C on my flight home, it wasn't an eye roll I gave. It was a facial expression worth a thousand words, one morphed from confusion, anger, and disbelief, at a level that no wannabe TikTok influencer could ever enrage me with.
What?????
I'm still pissed off. So much so it's inhibiting my ability to write this blog as the thought of blindfolding Bill Polian and telling him to walk until he feels the water is absorbing my brain.
There's only two options as to why Bill Polian can't recall voting or not voting for Bill Belichick:
He's so senile he’s lost his ability to recall events from mere weeks ago.
He's lying through his teeth, and is too cowardly to face the music he orchestrated.
If it's option 1, then him being on the committee in the first place is clear negligence on the part of the NFL. If you have voters that can't remember what they ate for breakfast this morning, how can you expect them to remember what players and coaches have produced on the field for the last 20 years?
It's obviously not option 1, as Polian's memory of his unwavering failures against Bill Belichick are clearly still top of mind. So we're left with option 2.
The man who changed the rules of the NFL to try to beat Bill Belichick, the man who sowed the seeds of the now-debunked deflategate after his team lost by 40 to Belichick in the AFC Championship game, the man who by all accounts, by any metric, is inferior to Belichick, was willing to ruin the reputation of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in order to get a good night sleep before the hyena's of the sports world come hunting him. What a loser.
As sad as it is, it's not surprising Polian exercised the pettiness that we've seen him do time and time again. But what's not being talked about enough is that 10 other people actually allowed Polian to convince them to not elect BB. Those people are arguably more pathetic than Polian.
I hope the votes are made public next week as they reportedly might. I hope every one of Polian's sheep who didn't place a checkmark next to Bill's name have to answer to their malfeasance, and get the proper scolding they deserve. I hope they all lose their ability to vote in the future, as their personal biases have clearly taken precedent over objectivity. As Tom Brady said best, if Bill Belichick isn't a first ballot HOFer, no one is.
The silver lining in all of this is that the people who left Belichick out in an effort to embarrass him are the ones who are likely feeling the most embarrassment today. Not a soul on Earth outside of the 11+ people who didn't vote for Belichick agree with them, and the outcry from the sports world, not just football, has made that clear.
Bill is probably emotional today, and understandably so. But I hope someone will download SnapFace on his phone so he can see the breadth of support he's getting from anyone who knows anything.
He's the greatest coach of all time. No amount of Bill Polian string-pulling will change that.
